About Pawsitude

As long as I can remember, for every penny in the fountain, every birthday candle I blew out, and every first star of the night, I wished that I could have a dog. That wish finally came true when I was in eighth grade. My family decided to get a golden retriever puppy, and my life changed forever! We shared many wonderful adventures, and Cody taught me and my family quite a lot. I was able to enjoy 11 wonderful years with Cody.

Once I moved to Baltimore, I became aware of the incredible number of homeless and abandoned animals not just in Baltimore, but also around world. I was able to take in 3 cats and a dog of my own (see My own adoption stories), but I felt like that wasn’t enough. After adopting my dog Cocoa from the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), I wasn’t sure I could ever go back again because the experience had been so overwhelming. But after a year, I decided it was time to do more than just talk about animal rescue. I decided to become a volunteer at BARCS.

I draw new meaning from this quote every day:

“You cannot save every animal in the world, but to the one  you save, it IS the world”
